Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question for Dr. Atsalis? Our patients ask us interesting questions every day, so we thought it would be helpful to include answers to some of the most common ones right here on our website. If you still have a question that we haven’t answered here, be sure to call us and ask! We’re always willing to take extra time to make sure you completely understand your dental care.
How often should I visit the dentist?
According to our own Dr. Atsalis and the American Dental Association, patients of all ages should visit the dentist at least twice a year in order to keep their teeth healthy and avoid common dental problems such as tooth decay, cavities, gum disease, and more.
Do I still need dental cleanings even though I brush my teeth every day?
Yes! Your teeth actually have many surfaces your brush and floss simply can’t reach, and they are vulnerable to accumulating harmful plaque, which can eventually lead to a cavity. A dental cleaning can easily reach these areas and keep your smile healthy year round.
What should I do about my missing teeth?
Replace them! Missing teeth are not only damaging to your smile’s appearance but your dental health as well. While we offer a multitude of treatments that can fill in the gaps, by far the best one is dental implants. This is the one treatment that can actually rebuild your smile from root to crown, creating completely natural-looking results that will last a lifetime.
Do I have to get traditional braces to straighten my crooked/crowded/gapped teeth?
Not anymore! We can now straighten your smile discreetly using Invisalign or quickly using Fastbraces®. Both have a much more subtle appearance than metal braces, and in many cases, they are able to work much faster than traditional orthodontics as well, giving you the best of everything!
Can you close the gap in my teeth?
We certainly can. Using either porcelain veneers or a porcelain dental crown, we can turn that gap in your smile into a distant memory in as little as two appointments.
What is the best way to whiten my teeth?
While there are plenty of generic treatments you can get at the store, professional teeth whitening offered by Atsalis Dental Excellence will deliver the most dramatic and reliable results when it comes to getting a brighter smile. Our in-office treatment can make your teeth up to 8 shades whiter in as little as 45 minutes!
Will you take my dental insurance?
We accept most PPO dental insurance plans, including those from Delta Dental Premier, MetLife, Cigna, and ADN. To learn how we can use your particular plan to help you save on your dental care, please contact us today.
